Description This clinic will focus on open water swimming techniques and strategies to help you be a more efficient and confident open water swimmer! Learn techniques for various open water swimming starts, sighting buoys, pack swimming, how to deal with the unexpected, and how to navigate an open water swim course and much more! You will practice what you’ve learned to navigate an open water swim course ~ 20-40 minutes. Triathlon transition area set up and essentials will also be discussed. Lifeguard and kayak support will be provided for your safety. This event is included in the Session II group training program.

NOTES: There is fee to enter the Park: MD-residents $5/person; out-of-state residents $6/person. Please follow the main road to the main beach swimming area.

What to Bring: Photo ID, USAT membership card (or purchase a $12.00 one-day membership), your swim suit or Tri-Suit, goggles, hair ties for long hair, swimming cap (will be provided), two towels, sunscreen, water bottle filled with water, a small snack to eat after, and a change of clothes. Showers and changing rooms are available on site. Wetsuits (made for swimming not diving) are highly recommended. The water temperatures will be cold.
Must be able to swim 500 yds continuously.
This event will be held rain or shine, in case of extreme weather conditions such as thunderstorms or unsafe swimming conditions as determined by the event organizers and or officials the event will be modified or cancelled. No refunds.
$40.00. This is a USAT certified event.
Non-USAT members are required to purchase a $12.00 one day membership.
